Senior transportation that never leaves anyone at the curb
Door-through-door rides with a caring escort — to appointments, the pharmacy, the grocery store, and the people and places your loved one misses. Quoted per trip, no hourly minimum.
Westmark provides non-medical transportation for seniors and adults across Greater Boston and MetroWest, MA — Boston, Framingham, Quincy, Woburn, Burlington, and surrounding towns. Every ride is door-through-door with a trained escort who helps at home, in the vehicle, and at the destination. Trips are quoted flat or per mile — rides are not subject to our 6-hour home care minimum.
What does "door-through-door" mean?
Most ride services are curb-to-curb: they honk, they drop off, they leave. Ours is different. A Westmark escort:
- Comes to the door and helps your loved one get ready and safely out of the house
- Assists with getting into and out of the vehicle
- Walks them into the appointment, checks them in, and stays with them
- Helps with bags, prescriptions, and paperwork
- Sees them safely back inside at home — lights on, door locked
Where do families use Westmark rides?
- Medical & dental appointments
- Hospital discharge pickups
- Pharmacy pick-ups
- Grocery & errands
- Hair salon & barber visits
- Faith services
- Family visits & celebrations
- Senior center & social outings
How is transportation priced?
Rides are quoted per trip: a flat rate for local trips and a base-plus-mileage rate for regional trips across Greater Boston and MetroWest. The first hour of appointment wait time is included; longer waits are billed hourly. There's no hourly minimum on rides — that policy applies only to home care and staffing visits. Good to know
- Book ahead when you can. We recommend 48 hours' notice for appointments; same-day rides are often possible — call us.
- Standing schedules welcome. Weekly dialysis, therapy, or grocery runs can be booked as a recurring schedule with the same escort.
- Not a medical transport service. Riders should be able to transfer into a standard vehicle with hands-on help. Need a wheelchair van or stretcher transport? We'll point you to the right provider.
Common questions about our rides
What does door-through-door mean?
The escort comes inside: helps your loved one get ready and out of the house, into the vehicle, into the appointment — and stays with them the whole time, then sees them safely back inside at home.
Is there an hourly minimum for rides?
No — rides are quoted per trip. The 6-hour minimum applies only to home care and staffing visits.
Will the driver wait during the appointment?
Yes. The first hour of wait time is included in the quote; longer waits are billed hourly. Your loved one is never left alone at a clinic.
Do you take wheelchairs?
Riders should be able to transfer into a standard vehicle with hands-on assistance; folding wheelchairs and walkers ride along no problem. For wheelchair-van or stretcher transport, we'll refer you to the right provider.
