Why our shifts are different

Most home care agencies build schedules out of one and two-hour visits. On paper that looks like a full day. In practice you spend a good part of it unpaid in your own car, burning your own petrol, and the cheque at the end of the week does not match the hours you gave up.

• Six-hour standard shifts. Our minimum visit is six hours, so a day is two or three clients at most — not seven.
• Far less unpaid driving. Fewer visits means fewer gaps between them, and we build schedules around where you actually live.
• Local assignments. We serve twelve towns and try hard to keep you working in and near your own.
• The same clients. Continuity is better for the family and better for you — you learn someone's routine instead of starting over every day.
• Real supervision. A coordinator you can actually reach, ongoing training, and backup when something goes wrong.

Who we are looking for

• CNAs, HHAs and experienced caregivers — formal certification is welcome but not required for companion work.
• A reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence for most assignments.
• Willingness to complete a CORI background check and provide references we can actually reach.
• The temperament for this work: patience, discretion, and the judgement to notice when something is not right.

What the work involves

Personal care such as bathing, dressing and toileting; help with mobility and transfers; cooking a proper meal; light housekeeping and laundry; medication reminders; errands and escorted rides; and genuine companionship. You are not providing nursing care — no wound care, no injections, nothing requiring a clinical licence.
