Why this is not rideshare

Driving for an app means a queue of strangers, a timer on every pickup, and no idea who is getting in the car. This is the opposite. You are given a named rider, a time, and a destination, and the job is finished when they are back inside their own front door.

• Whole trips, not scattered minutes. You take someone there, wait through the appointment, and bring them home — one assignment from start to finish.
• Local routes. We serve twelve towns and try hard to keep you driving in and near your own.
• The same riders. Standing weekly schedules — dialysis, therapy, the Thursday grocery run — so you learn someone's routine instead of starting over every day.
• No meters, no surge, no haggling. The office quotes and bills the trip. You drive and escort; the money side is not your problem.
• Real supervision. A coordinator you can actually reach, ongoing training, and backup when something goes wrong.

Who we are looking for

• A valid Massachusetts driver's licence, a clean record, and a reliable, insured vehicle you are happy to carry a passenger in.
• Comfort helping someone door through door — steps, a walker, a heavy coat, a bag of shopping.
• Caregiving experience or a CNA, HHA or PCA certificate is welcome, and not required.
• Willingness to complete a CORI background check and provide references we can actually reach.
• The temperament for this work: patience, discretion, and the judgement to notice when something is not right.

What the work involves

Arriving at the door rather than the kerb; helping your rider into and out of the car; walking them in and sitting through the appointment; relaying what the doctor said if the family has asked and your rider agrees; carrying the shopping as far as the kitchen counter. Errands, the pharmacy, the hairdresser, the senior centre, family visits. You are not providing nursing or personal care — no bathing or dressing, no medications, no clinical tasks of any kind.
